Solar Heating & Cooling
Endless Solar's Evacuated Tubes are suitable for solar heating and cooling applications.
It makes perfect sense. Heating and Cooling make up a significant portion of the energy used in the home. Remember, as a first step, you should improve the thermal efficiency of your home (for example installing insulation) before going further. |

Solar Cooling (Solar Airconditioning)
Endless Solar is currently finalising the design and commercialisation of a revolutionary low cost, highly efficient solar air conditioning product. It is driven by heat from the sun - so, the hotter it gets outside, the cooler it gets inside. If you are interested in this product, please contact us for more information.
Solar Heating (Underfloor Hydronic Heating)
What is Hydronic Heating?
Imagine heating your home using the power of the sun instead of expensive energy sources. Hydronic Heating is a method of heating your home by circulating heated water throughout the building. If done correctly, it can be quite economical and one of the most pleasant ways to heat your home.
Types of hydronic heating Systems
There are 2 common methods of hydronic heating:
1. Radiator heating: Heated water is circulated through panel radiators arranged throughout the house. Heat from this water is radiated directly to the air in the room. This method is not as effective as the in-slab heating method (see below), however, it is easy to retrofit to existing houses.
Radiator heating requires heated water to be at a higher set temperature than ‘In slab’ heating and is not recommended for systems that use solar as an ‘active’ heating source.
It is not recommended for houses with high ceilings (3m or more).

2. In slab heating (under-floor heating): is one of the most effective and comfortable ways to heat a house. Coils of polyethylene piping is laid in the concrete slab floor during construction. Heated water is circulated through the slab. The slab has a high thermal mass and retains this heat and slowly releases it into the house.

Under-floor heating systems are available to suit different floor types, suspended wooden floors and screed floors.
In-slab radiant floor heating is one of the best heating distribution systems for use with solar collectors. The relatively low water temperature in the system helps maintain maximum solar efficiency.
Advantages of Hydronic Heating
- Comfortable and pleasant
- Economical – when coupled with Evacuated Tube solar thermal collectors, hydronic heating is one of the most efficient ways of heating water.
- No fan-forced air or dust circulation – doesn’t create the dryness associated with high-intensity systems.
- Silent (unless using a circulating fan).
- Low maintenance –no moving parts means trouble free heating.
- Proven method of heating – used widely in Europe for almost a century.
- Long system life.
Please note that these products must be custom built and are relatively expensive. Endless Solar does not install these systems. For more information on Hydronic Heating, Contact Us |
